Verdict

The presence of Megan Carberry aboard Top Of The Glas is sure to make Brian Ellison's gelding a popular order on the Knavesmire. But JOYS OF SPRING has been keeping her counsel in slightly better company than this and, having gone close recently at Windsor, we'll take Luca Cumani's filly to belatedly get off the mark. Green Zone has dotted up at Thirsk and Pontefract in his last two starts and Nigel Tinkler turns to Shelly Birkett in an effort to bring about a quick hat-trick. Spiceupyourlife failed to follow up a success at Beverley though she handles fast ground and Jack Garritty is able to claim 3lb from the saddle. Mayfield Boy won a maiden over course and distance last year and with Mel Brittain's charge the subject of plenty of confidence ahead of his most recent outing at Pontefract, a market check is advised.
