In depth

Verdict

Mercers landed a double before struggling off today’s mark in a higher grade sprint at Kempton when behind third-placed Porto Ferro. The latter has yet to win a handicap but has slipped down the weights and the same comment applies to ARAGON KNIGHT. The latter was having only his second start for Mick Appleby when placed at Chelmsford recently and gets the vote with further progress expected. Krazy Paving has been raised only 2lb for narrowly beating Noble Deed over track and trip and Your Pal Tal pops over from Ireland in the hope of ending a long losing run.
