      Verdict

A poor race that can go to Tresor Secret, who drops into this grade for the first time and is preferred over Springalong and Mandoob, who hold the most solid credentials from the rest according to the official figures for the race. None of the remainder have shown enough to merit a solid recommendation for an each-way play at longer odds. But, as is always the case with races of this nature, the betting market can provide the best indication towards how they have been performing at home. The first time visor for Mandoob does look to be a last throw of the dice so Springalong is given the office to provide the selection with the sternest challenge. However, he has never taken any of the chances he has been presented with in the past and it will be no surprise to see him find one too good at the finish again. Which leaves Tresor Secret, who has dropped to a handy mark after just three starts for his current yard. They came in much better races than this and, if he returns to anything like his French form, Tresor Secret will have too much in hand when it really matters tonight.
