Aidan O'Brien has had a disappointing time with his juveniles at the Royal meeting so Tipperary winner In Excelsis may be best watched and we prefer to take a chance with Hearthstead Wings, who is preferred to Where With All. The selection is trained by Mark Johnston, who took this 12 months ago with Pearl Of Love, and the son of In The Wings created a favourable impression when landing a Ripon maiden on his debut, staying on strongly to beat his nearest rival by four lengths. There should be plenty of improvement to come, especially over today's longer trip, and at the odds he makes more appeal than Where With All. By comparison to the Ballydoyle operation, Godolphin have had a fine Royal Ascot and the Haydock winner has to be respected. A hefty penalty may prevent Richard Fahey's Bolton Hall from following up his Beverley success and of more interest may be Paul Cole's dual winner Brecon Beacon for who Kieren Fallon has been booked. The Barry Hills-trained Newbury winner Whazzat and Brian Meehan's Perfect Choice are others worthy of a mention but the vote goes to Hearthstead Wings to give Mark Johnston another winner in the race.
