Verdict

The handicapper may have taken a chance in allotting TULLIUS a mark of 74 and its Peter Winkworth's horse who looks the most likely winner of this. A half-brother to a Polytrack winner, it was no surprise that our pick left a modest debut behind when switched to this surface and the battling qualities he showed to win will serve him well. The third-placed horse has come out and taken second since and the handicapper has him at 77, so given that our selection had him well held this mark seems generous. Saucy Buck remains well-handicapped on his early-season form despite a 6lb rise incurred for winning well at Kempton but this seventh furlong is an unknown so we'll take him on along with Romantic Wish, for whom this is a drop in trip and that'll serve her well but the assessor doesn't appear to have taken any chances with her rating.
