In what is a highly competitive race where none of the runners can be confidently discounted, Texas Gold is taken to continue his fine course record at the expense of Viking Spirit, Judd Street, and Saviours Spirit. Judd Street has been running consistently this Autumn but may find himself being run out of it late on over a trip that possibly stretches his stamina. Contrastingly, Viking Spirit will definitely be one finishing with a powerful late run but Dane O'Neill will have to make sure that he doesn't give the horse too much to do. Multiple course and distance winner Saviours Spirit is a sprinter in form after beating Don Pele last time out, and will be another hoping to run on well from the back under jockey Joe Fanning who gets on particularly well with him. However for the winner we return to Texas Gold who has only been out of the places twice in sixteen runs round here, and Willie Muir's admirable sprinter can give Eddie Ahern another winner at a track where he enjoys plenty of success.
