In depth

Verdict

Khun John is the pick ahead of Arry Dash, Burgundy and Birkside to name but a few. As the sun starts to set on a terrific afternoon's racing, the twilight fixture at Kempton comes to the fore, with a 10-furlong handicap to start with. The trip will suit Khun John who tried it for the first time when making a successful handicap debut under Frankie Dettori at Lingfield in October. He is a most progressive sort whose subsequent rise in the weights is offset by his apprentice rider's claim here. Strictly on the form-book, Burgundy, fourth to the selection at the Surrey track last time, has a good chance of reversing the placings on the revised terms, but they will need to go a very strong pace if he is to benefit. Arry Dash showed signs of a return to form when third at Nottingham on his last outing, and although he has not taken to the Polytrack in the past, he may be good enough to reach the frame. Birkside has not progressed of late, and the rest make little or no appeal. so the in-form Khun John is taken to complete a hat-trick.
