In depth

Verdict

Winning point-to-pointer HARDLINE won a Thurles bumper before twice falling when holding every chance over hurdles. He was well beaten on his return to a bumper at Gowran behind the highly regarded Getabird but shouldn't find one of his stature here. Crackerdancer attempted to make all at Gowran last month and battled on very strongly when headed by Shimmer's Rock. That was a fine effort and the weight received from the selection can ensure he doesn't have things his own way. Worth The Oscar made a reasonable start in a strong Punchestown bumper on New Year's Eve and looks best of the remainder.
