This is a very competitive apprentice handicap and we like the look of Rouge Et Noir, with Field Spark and Kernel Dowery also expected to run well. Keith Reveley's eight-year-old hasn't been seen out since competing over hurdles at Catterick in January when he finished a decent fifth behind Galero. his efforts on the flat last season included a close up third behind Zan Low at Redcar. A repeat of that effort would be good enough against these rivals. Field Spark returned from a four month break to chase home Lucky Leo over course and distance. That was in a slightly stronger race than this so he deserves every respect. Meanwhile Kernel Dowery is back over his best trip and hails from a yard just beginning to hit form. Best of the remainder could be Given A Chance, but Rouge Et Noir has strong claims on last season's form and gets a tentative vote.
