Stamford Blue had to be dropped into a seller over course and distance to win last time and this looks a lot tougher so preference is for Kingsmaite, who gets the vote ahead of Thornaby Green. The last mentioned disappointed at Carlisle last time but holds solid claims on earlier form so cannot be discounted, especially if there is a market move for the gelding. Mistral Sky has slipped to a fair mark but there is a suspicion that he would prefer a stiffer test of stamina than will be provided today and of more interest may be Tony Carroll's Plausabelle, who is interesting dropping back in distance. Top weight Times Review has given little sign of encouragement of late but the stable of Tim Easterby has been among the winners of late so he cannot be discounted, while Grey Cossack has slipped to a winning mark. The vote though goes to Roy Bowring's Kingsmaite, who returns to turf on a favourable mark after a decent spell on the all-weather and has conditions to suit.
