In depth

Verdict

Man Of Vision gets the nod over Audit, with Soldiers Quest, Gull Wing and Putra Square all making for an interesting race. Man Of Vision was not winning out of turn at Lingfield in March, having shaped with promise over shorter trips on the all-weather earlier. He seemed to relish the 10-furlongs at the Surrey track, and on breeding will have no problems with today's extra distance. The opposition is a grade higher admittedly, but he has the scope to progress as the year goes on. Audit is very well-related, the dam being a full-sister to King Of Kings, and is expected to show a lot more this year than he did as a juvenile, but this will be his first outing since October. Soldiers Quest bolted up in a Wolverhampton maiden in March but finds himself giving weight to all bar Putra Square as a result. That may turn out to be a bit harsh but we shall see. Gull Wing ended last term on a high but is another that will benefit from the outing, and with fitness assured, Man Of Vision is the one to beat.
