Verdict

Mumbling can make a winning debut here with Rakassa and Spreewald the possible dangers. The selection is an eight-time winner on the Flat from 10-12 furlongs. Now with Brendan Powell, naturally ability alone should make him competitive here. Spreewald won on the Flat in Germany over a mile when fitted with blinkers, but he showed little on his hurdling debut. Rakassa showed ability in a Hereford bumper and now makes his hurdling debut. From the same John Manners stable, Jonanaud also showed promise in bumpers, and the market might tell us which is the more-fancied. Auditor showed some promise on the Flat but has not confirmed that over hurdles to date. Overall, then, we are happy to side with Mumbling.
