Cush Jewel can make up for her recent lapse at the expense of Annie Byers and Just Beth. Cush Jewel won a weak hurdle contest at Towcester in October with a bit to spare, and after a narrow defeat at the same track, was put over fences at Plumpton two weeks ago. She was in touch when coming to grief at the fourth, but appeared to jump reasonably well until that point. However, she now goes back over timber as a confidence booster, and despite having to give weight away all round, has the form to bounce back. Annie Byers has not really progressed since her narrow bumper defeat at Sandown last year, but shaped well after a break when third at Ascot recently. She can give the selection most to do, while Just Beth makes little appeal on the evidence so far. Neither do the rest, and Cush Jewel is the pick.
