        Verdict

        The curtain comes down on events with probably the most wide open race of the day, a class E handicap hurdle. Colline de Feu has been a consistent performer of late, but the fact remains that she has not managed to win since scoring at Fakenham a year ago. Mister Putt finally lost his maiden tag at Plumpton, the addition of a tongue-strap and blinkers helping his cause. Joly Bois represents Martin Pipe and Tony McCoy so must be mentioned, although his form is hardly what you would associate with his yard. Dare comes from a yard that had a winner earlier this week with Macgeorge, while Croker has the assistance of Marcus Foley, rapidly making a name for himself in the riding ranks. Both can play a role, but in a tricky affair, our each-way selection is Roman King. He has struggled in handicaps for Mary Reveley and Paul Nicholls, for whom he finally scored in selling company at Uttoxeter. Bought by present connections after that, he is teamed with Richard Johnson here, so they must mean business. he is no world-beater, but neither are the others, and Roman King can make the frame at least.
