In depth

Verdict

An intriguing maiden with a couple of newcomers, from high profile stables looking the part on breeding, likely to be too good for those with experience. Of those that have previously seen a racecourse Amanda Perrett's Cat Ona High showed improved form at Newmarket last time and should benefit from the step up to seven furlongs, while Paul Cole's Squire Michael would need to show a great deal more than on either of his previous outings at either Epsom or Chester. Finger Of Fate looks to be one of his stable's lesser lights and a better bet, and the TEAMtalk selection, could be his stablemate Musanid. Sir Michael Stoute has done pretty well with his juveniles first time out this term and this son of Swain looks the type to take a high rank, although he will undoubtedly be better over middle distances next term. David Loder's two-year-olds have been largely disappointing this season, particularly on their debuts, so Khanjar is probably best watched, while Paul Cole's Top Tenor, who is by Sadler's Wells, would want more rain.
