In depth

Verdict

Ringing Hill stands out in this 13-runner maiden and is the obvious TEAMtalk selection. Henry Candy's filly has done little wrong so far, finishing second to Sir Michael Stoute's L'Oiseau D'Argent on her Kempton debut, with several future winners behind, and the filling the same spot behind Lookalike (the pair clear) on her only subsequent start, again at Kempton. A reproduction of either of those efforts should suffice for the daughter of Charnwood Forest. The main dangers to the selection include Henry Cecil's Queen Excalibur, who may not have been entirely happy on a soft surface at Doncaster after a three month absence last time, Clive Brittain's Haddice, who was well beaten off 85 in a Ripon nursery on his most recent outing, and Bergerac Pie from the Reg Hollinshead yard. However, if the selection runs up to her previous form she will be tough to beat.
