      Verdict

Races do not get much worse than this, with 16 moderate performers lining up for a selling nursery. Needless to say plenty have claims. Among them are topweight It's A Wizard, who has to be respected on the form of his second in a Newmarket seller a month ago. However, two runs since then suggest that the David Evans-trained youngster was flattered at HQ. Dawn Alibi strictly holds Ethos on running behind Uhuru Dawn at Folkestone last month although neither can be completely relied upon to reproduce their efforts there. James Given's Mill Regent is less exposed than most and, with the stable in good form at present, he comes into the reckoning. Calypso Dancer may do better now he runs in this grade, while Platinum Boy has shown signs of ability and does not have a great deal of weight to carry. The TEAMtalk vote though goes to Michael Bell's Chemeras. Only beaten two lengths in a similar race at Yarmouth last time, the son of Bahhare should appreciate the longer distance here and, with the stable's juveniles in good form at present, he gets the tentative nod.
