In depth

Verdict

This is a very difficult race to assess and so a tentative vote is given to Marabar, with Doctor Dennis and Time To Remember put forward as two others with decent claims. David Chapman's seven-year-old is consistent in this type of company and put in one of his best efforts on similar ground to today's at Pontefract when a close up fifth to Bundy. A repeat of that effort could be good enough against this bunch. Time To Remember has been a little disappointing on the all-weather but is much better on the turf and could go well at a decent price. Meanwhile Doctor Dennis, who is not the most consistent of performers, can be given a great chance on his recent second to Radlett Lady. To be honest it would be no surprise whatever the outcome of this poor event, but Marabar has as good a chance as any and gets the verdict.
