In depth

Verdict

Plenty of these hold chances on the best of their form and it will not be surprising if a number of the field attract support from the betting ring before the off. However, Palisander arrives here on the back of an impressive display in a ladies open at Heskander at the start of this month and he looks worthy of a small investment now that he is back over regulation fences. The likes of Weaver George and Left Bank have been hard to win with in recent times but do have claims in this company - while Broadgate Flyer and Extra Proud should not be dismissed to quickly when drawing up a shortlist of alternatives. However, as Palisander, who also hacked up at Tabley last month, is back to something like his best, he is hard to oppose as he bids to secure at least the traveling expenses from his Cheshire base tonight.
