Verdict

Capitaine is not straightforward but has already won in this grade and only found one too good in the Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown in January, though looked to be feeling the effects of a busy campaign last time at Kempton. CHALONNIAL was almost four lengths behind Capitaine at Sandown but there shouldn’t be much between the pair on today’s terms and the slightly longer trip may suit Harry Fry’s charge. He gets the vote as Mount Mews has been doing all of his winning at a much lower level. Easy Ayr winner Fairlee Grey is held by the latter on their run together here in December while Mirsaale was possibly flattered by his form earlier in the season.
