Gladtoknowyou is taken to prevail at the expense of Count Campioni and Lannkaran, in an interesting showcase handicap over three miles. Gladtoknowyou has not been seen much considering his age, having had just the six career outings so far, but has won on two occasions, most recently at Wincanton three weeks ago. That in fact was only his second appearance since scoring at Kempton a year ago, which suggests that he has been a hard horse to keep sound. However, there was nothing wrong with that latest performance, and a small rise in the weights may not be enough to stop him from following up. Laannkaran gets a handy weight pull with the selection after finishing third at Wincanton but did not impress as much with his jumping, and is passed over. The rest of the opposition are no slouches, and Count Campioni should give him a race. He has been mixing it with decent opponents both over hurdles and fences, and the form of his latest third to Sh Boom has worked out well. Bitofamixup goes well here but has been absent for some time, and a bigger threat may be Pharaway Citizen judged on an earlier success at Taunton. Trade Off should not be totally discounted, with Tony McCoy in the saddle, but Stormyfairweather is a shadow of his former self these days. All in all, the safest option is Gladtoknowyou.
