Lou du Moulin Mas gets weight off his four opponents and may be able to defy an absence in the novices' chase. Paul Nicholls' French import has placed form over hurdles in France, and has been off the track since last June. Sure to have been well schooled, he has the scope to make up into a nice chaser in time. Haditovski scored at Market Rasen on Boxing Day but was then pulled up in desperate ground at Uttoxeter. He is a course and distance winner here but will do well to concede weight all round. General has some experience over the bigger obstacles, and will find this a bit easier than when having to contend with the likes of Non So and Tidour at Plumpton last time. Even so, he does not appeal as the likely winner over this sort of trip. No Shenanigans is best watched after a long absence, and for the winner we return to Lou du Moulin Mas to get off to a winning start over fences.
