In depth

Verdict

It is hard to escape the claims of La Lambertine, who is selected over At Your Request, who makes the most appeal out of the rest with experience, while Waterline Blue could prove to be best of the hurdles debutantes. However, he was regressive when he was last seen on the Flat and Peter Bowen will need to have sharpened him up considerably for his interest to have been rekindled. Dumfries won over ten furlongs when trained on the level by John Gosden, but his debut for his new yard was hardly the most inspiring and others make more appeal at this stage. At Your Request does not look to be the easiest of rides and looked a most reluctant partner for David Dennis at Uttoxeter last month. He is capable but there have to be a few questions raised about his resolution. Therefore, this is probably best left to La Lambertine, whose form is far and away the most solid and she appears to face a straightforward task today.
