Verdict

Some old rivals are set to take each other on again and there is not likely to be much between the likes of Turaath, Graffiti Tongue and Junkanoo on these revised terms. However, a chance is taken that Dd's Glenella is worth persevering with after she finally got off the mark at Warwick last December. Nigel Twiston-Davies has given her a sensible amount of time to get over her exertions and, as a proven stayer on the predicted going, she has more going for her than the rest today. A 6lb rise looks fair for her Warwick success and, with that form looking solid in the context of this race, she is given another chance to prove herself. Junkanoo won with a fair bit in hand last time but has struggled over this trip in the past. Therefore, the burden of top weight is a little off-putting for him. Still, he should confirm his superiority over the frustrating Turaath, who has never been noted for his consistency. He is due to go up 7lb from Saturday and his connections are almost forced to play their hand here. The recent completion rate of Rollo has been poor - with his latest start being inexplicably below par. He now has something to prove. Therefore, it can pay to stick with something that has the proven ability to grind out a little extra when the emphasis is on stamina, which brings in Dd's Glenella for us today.
