In depth

Verdict

This is a really weak contest that can go to How Ran On ahead of Wot No Cash and Lord Of The Hill. How Ran On is not getting any younger but managed to score at Newton Abbot in June thanks to forcing tactics being employed. He does better when given his head and if Paul Flynn gets into an early lead, he could be hard to pass. Lisa Williamson's gelding is still relatively well handicapped compared to his form in Ireland where he was successful four times. This class G contest should be well within his compass and he is the pick of a moderate bunch. Wot No Cash ran well after a break at Hexham recently, but has not won for two years, while Lord Of The Hill made plenty of mistakes at Worcester and needs to brush up his jumping. The fact that they are the main dangers illustrates how bad this race is, and How Ran On is only a tentative selection to small stakes.
