In depth

Verdict

Lisdante faced an impossible task last time when racing from 20lb out of the handicap in the Edward Hanmer Memorial Chase but had previously scored a comfortable victory in a valuable event at Carlisle over three-and-a-quarter miles in testing conditions. Sue Smith's charge impressed with a fluent display of jumping and this thorough stayer, who should appreciate the better ground, will prove a tough nut to crack so earns the TEAMtalk vote. Kit Smartie made a highly satisfactory comeback when a staying-on second at Ayr and looks a big danger off a 1lb lower mark with the outing under his belt while the unexposed Lord Rapier remains open to plenty of improvement so has to be respected following a fine effort when just touched off at Market Rasen last time. However, Native Buck and Ackzo both disappointed when last seen out and have something to prove on their reappearance.
