Topweight Springfield Scally does not win all that often, may be best caught fresh and having gone up 11lbs for a win at Chepstow on his reappearance anyway he is readily opposable. Roveretto is facing an uphill battle against the handicapper, as is Tik-A-Tai who has been raised 10lbs for his win at Fontwell last time. Charlie Egerton has his string in good form at present and Empire Park has epitomised that with a hat-trick of wins. However, the handicapper has taken note and, off his new mark, the seven-year-old may struggle. With Dr Charlie, Ocean Tide and Pillar Of Fire all out of the weights proper and Nickel Sun having a long absence to overcome it may be worth taking a chance on Jonjo O'Neill's Young American. The son of Hamas may have needed the run when 12 lengths behind Yeoman's Point in Chepstow's Tote Silver Trophy and, if the six-year-old does improve for that, he will take some beating off his current mark. He gets the TEAMtalk vote.
