In depth

Verdict

Only six go to post but this is a decent race with none of the field dismissed. Jungleland gets our vote. The selection has been handed a massive 13lb rise having landed a gamble on his handicap bow at Chepstow but he's a lightly raced horse and may prove up to the task. He scored in good style and has been given plenty of time to recover from his exertions but he has an extra half a mile to travel today in better company. He could feasibly improve for this longer trip though and can continue his yard's good run of form. Obaki De Grissay battled on gamely to beat a progressive rival at Exeter over 3 miles 6; this drop back in trip may not be in his favour as he appeared to need every yard that day but he is progressive. Stagecoach Diamond has yet to win over fences but should put that record straight sooner rather than later, Willies Way has ability but hasn't always been foot perfect and of more interest is Antonius Caesar but he was a little below par last time. The Sawyer gained a deserved win at Chepstow and hasn't been harshly treated by the handicapper; he looks sure to run a big race but we'll stick with Jungleland.
