Verdict

FRENCH PRESS was unfancied on his racecourse debut over today's trip at Doncaster but very nearly caught the winner. David Brown's colt looks good enough to win a maiden at this level and makes more appeal than Deauville Prince. The latter overcame trouble in running to grab the runners-up spot over C&D last month and should be in the mix once again along with Noble Bull, who was still beaten six lengths when second at Newmarket last time but is expected to show further progress here. The remainder look up against it though the newcomer Steeler has three winning relatives and should be noted for the future.
