Verdict

A market watch is always advised before getting too heavily involved but ALBILLANBAZ is worthy of a speculative interest. John Quinn's colt ran respectably in an ordinary looking Redcar maiden, and with the handler's string in such fine fettle, it looks significant that the switch has made after that one racecourse start. Alborz hasn't reached the heights that his half-brother Hunterview managed, and the former Mark Johnston inmate was knocked down to Tim Vaughan for just 7000 guineas after eight unsuccessful starts on the Flat. Ctappers never looked like winning on his hurdling debut though Mick Channon's gelding stayed on well and does have an advantage of knowing exactly what to expect. Quiet Route realised just 800 guineas at the sales despite a fairly decent pedigree and he shouldn't be discounted with Brian Ellison's name is in the trainer's column.
