My Reward has been a model of consistency this year and produced a career-best effort to make all in a Listed handicap at Chester last week. This track also suits his style of running, though he’s closely matched with Graceland on today’s terms. Iain Jardine won the Ebor last month with Nakeeta and has another promising stayer on his hands in SEPAL. The four-year-old had only won modest affairs at Ayr and Thirsk before stepping up to a Class 3 at Hamilton but was equally impressive at the Scottish track and recent rain is very much in his favour. Gawdawpalin had an entry at Ascot yesterday and would be trying a new trip and stamina could also be a problem for Mukhayyam and Compton Mill given a strong pace is likely. Great Fighter has been in excellent form over hurdles and on the Flat this year, however, and has to go on the short-list.
