A three-year-old won this a year ago and they are strongly represented again. Maljaa was having only his sixth start when landing a Doncaster handicap and, though 5lb higher, should give another good account. Another youngster, Snap Shots, beat him over the track and trip on his debut in May of last year and has been performing with credit most of this summer while Lexington Place has been in superb form all summer, winning for the fourth time at Musselburgh last week. Ballesteros attempted to make all at Newmarket on Saturday but could only stay on at one pace when headed so the vote goes to SILVANUS. Paul Midgley's veteran was racing off his highest-ever mark when a close third in a Class 2 handicap at York last month and a similar level of form will see him difficult to keep out of the frame. Fast Track should be at his peak after three runs this campaign and he ran a fine race in the Steward's Cup Consolation from a poor draw.
