In depth

Verdict

What A Treasure is a sporting choice in the finale and edges a slender vote of confidence over Hoh Wotanite and Top Dirham. The last named is being kept busy and is still on a fair mark in comparison to the best of his form. The ground has not been in his favour recently, so the faster going will suit Mick Easterby's charge ideally. A careful monitoring of the betting is advised. Hoh Wotanite has hit form in the last month or so and, having won or been placed in each of his last five starts, he deserves a solid mention. However, he is also on a stiff looking mark and needs to be at his very best to prevail. Hits Only Cash and Society Music are a couple of others worth noting in the betting. However, What A Treasure - a cosy winner at Leicester nine days ago - has far more scope than any of the others and is hard to oppose despite being set to carry a 6lb penalty. Which may not be too much of a burden in this company in any case!
