    Verdict

This looks a match between Violette and Grantley Adams, with the other pair, Stonehaugh and River Logic, fighting it out for the place prize money. Violette can collect her second race for Sir Mark Prescott. Stonehaugh comes from the Howard Johnson yard and therefore can¿t be written off too easily, but he was well beaten at Ripon on his debut having shown early pace and although he will come on for that outing he is up against a pair of useful individuals here. Stable companion River Logic also faded at Catterick last time to finish fourth and although he may pick up a race, it doesn¿t look like being this one. Mick Channon¿s Grantley Adams has won one of his seven starts to date but that was over today¿s course and distance and after a good second in a hot Goodwood handicap his chance here must be respected. Violette though may have more scope. She ran well in a Group Three at Newbury before chasing home Sleeping Storm at Haydock. She receives seven pounds from Grantley Adams here and can make the weight concession count. Violette can lead them home
