With the Chapple-Hyam yard showing signs of returning to form Saleima is the pick to land this handicap. The worry would be that she looks without a favoured trip at this point with recent runs over twelve and ten furlongs respectively. She does not appear to be getting home over ten furlongs so this drop back to a mile is an experiment. Suede was soundly beaten by a 63 rated performer last time in a moderate maiden so a mark of 70 is rather harsh. The ground was possibly on the lively side there and being american bred the all-weather is not likely to prove a bother. Charlevoix found the ground too deep at Folkestone last time having scored twice on good to firm ground previously. The maidens Queen's Speech and Fastella are others to consider given connections and the good form being enjoyed by each others yard but Saleima is the pick.
