In depth

Verdict

Chief Editor, Sonny Red and Mind The Style are the three against the field here and Chief Editor can have the final say. Sonny Red won a decent Newmarket maiden on his debut two weeks ago, and he was backed to do so. He showed on that winning debut that he handles cut in the ground, and he must be respected with the yard going well. Mind The Style showed promise when second on his Beverley debut, and then took his Brighton maiden before finishing a good third in a good Chester contest. He is yet to encounter ground slower than good, but he clearly has ability and should not be discounted. Chief Editor was a surprise winner at Southwell on his debut, but showed that to be no fluke when finishing a good third in a hot Newmarket contest. Both Chief Editor, and the winner of that race went on to York success, where Chief Editor showed improved form on an easy surface. Chief Editor can remain in charge here.
