Verdict

Free To Air, Elise and Cool Customer are the three for the shortlist here and preference is for Cool Customer to atone for an unlucky York defeat. Free To Air will be a hard opponent to overcome. He is on a hat trick after hard fought successes at Southwell and Windsor and is only five pounds higher than his latest success. The stable is going well and he is reluctantly passed over on ground he will relish. Sir Michael Stoute's Elise showed considerable improvement on her final start of last season, enjoying the give in the ground for her sole win at Brighton. The value of that form is questionable, but with the stable flying, she must be respected. After decisive wins at Leicester and Kempton, Cool Customer was narrowly denied the hat trick at York, just held close home after being denied room to deliver his challenge, and having been intimidated by the winning jockey's whip. Well backed that day, he races off a five pound higher mark in future handicaps and looks the one to be on here. Cool Customer can underline his improvement from two to three.
