In depth

Verdict

A typically competitve end of season affair which should provide a decent return from whichever horse returns as the winner. Hence pinning down the said selection is no easy task. The shortlist includes; Mutabassir, Sharp Gossip and Noble Calling, who are all capable of going close on the pick of their form. Wind Chime is also an interesting contender after his recent efforts have confirmed that he still holds plenty of enthusiasm for the game. He also gave a very good account of himself on his only previous try in a claimer and if he seems to go well on these idiosyncratic courses. However, the combination of a favourable high draw and the booking of Jamie Spencer for Deeper In Debt is enough for Jamie Osborne's charge to carry the hopes as the TEAMtalk selection. The gelding has held his form well since landing a hat-trick of successes in handicaps last month, and his near one-in-four strike-rate reads very well in the context of this race.
