In depth

Verdict

The six runnings of this have been shared between Dermot Weld with three, Aidan O'Brien with two, and Willie Mullins, whose Blackstairsmountain became the first winner other than a three-year-old. With no entries from Ballydoyle, the way looks clear for Weld's ENDLESS INTRIGUE to enhance his trainer's record as this dual bumper winner looks to have been brought to the boil for this after a short-head defeat by Shop Dj at the Curragh in May. Mullins is represented by Pozyc, who landed a maiden hurdle at Gowran in April and will have come on for a recent run on the flat behind Spelterini at the Curragh. Stigh Collain attracted plenty of support on his racecourse debut at Downpatrick a couple of weeks ago and landed the spoils is taking fashion. He should make further progress that that was over 2m2f and one or two of these may prove too pacey. Takeyourcapoff has been in good form in bumpers without managing to win one while Caesar's Song is easily the pick of those with experience under flat Rules and his pace will make him a formidable opponent.
