Thomas Edison won this in 2014 and looked as though he'd retained his ability when fourth at Tipperary a month ago behind today's rival Plinth. Tony Martin will have him spot-on and he can reverse places with the winner. Clondaw Warrior produced a brilliant performance to land the race last year with Princely Conn just over a length back in third and Tigris River a further couple of lengths away in fifth. The winner is now 12lb higher and Ruby Walsh has deserted him for MAX DYNAMITE, runner-up to Quick Jack in this in 2015 before winning the Yorkshire Cup and finishing second in the Melbourne Cup. He hasn't been seen since last year's Ascot Gold Cup but, with the champion trainer having other strong contenders, his rider must believe he's ready for this and he gets the vote. Princely Conn has been kept back for this and a recent run on the Flat will have put him straight so he could come out best of last year's runners. Timyan and Ornua are on hat-tricks while John Quinn sent Project Bluebook to Fairyhouse in April to land a Grade 2 novices' contest ,though four-year-olds rarely win this ultra-competitive handicap.
