In depth

Verdict

Taking a massive step down in class here KANAD looks the one to be with in this selling hurdle although Perfect Reward is closely matched with him on the ratings and Helen Wood should show up well at this level. Last weekend the pick was running decent race in the Imperial Cup before he was hampered. On the pick of his chase form he has an outstanding claim and now at this lowly level he looks a bit of a standout. That said Perfect Reward is best in at the weights but he'll have a bit of fitness to prove after a break. He makes his debut for a local yard who do well here and any market moves in his favour would be interesting. Helen Wood has been running in better company than this recently and despite not showing a great deal on her return recently trainer David Pipe had a good festival and we can expect better in this grade. Alrafid is a course and distance winner at this level and ran well on the flat last time so enters calculations but if running up to his start last week Kanad should be wining this.
