In depth

Verdict

The market may prove interesting here, but on racecourse evidence, Ben's Turn is up to defying a penalty at the expense of Saddlers Cloth and Twist The Facts. Backing bumper debut winners to defy a penalty is the way to the poor house normally, but it is hard to escape the claims of Ben's Turn who sluiced up on her introduction at Uttoxeter in May. She looks a smart prospect and will be going hurdling soon. Saddlers Cloth was well fancied when landing a point-to-point in May but may be best watched on her debut under rules, while Twist The Facts shaped well enough on her Hereford bow in May but possibly needs more time. Paul Webber's bumper runners are always worth a second look so watch the market for Drink Light, and with Nick Gifford not averse to introducing the odd smart one, Homeleigh Son should be noted, but Ben's Turn has major claims and can follow up.
