Verdict

Sweet Diversion and Liverpool Echo catch the eye with the vote going to Liverpool Echo. Sweet Diversion was rated in the mid-120s over hurdles and made a pleasing debut effort over fences when third to Backbeat at Exeter. However, he is only two pounds better off for the 13 lengths he finished behind Liverpool Echo on that occasion, which swings our vote towards the latter. Tana River was a useful novice hurdler in 2003 but his return after an absence at Hereford in November will have had to bring him on a lot for him to score. Alfa Sunrise won in good fashion over hurdles at Towcester three runs ago, although he disappointed on his chasing debut. He has two ways of running though and could leave that behind him today. We'll Make It has a few pounds to find if ratings are anything to go by. Finally, Time To Shine progressed as a hurdler last season and showed some promise on his debut over fences but, for today, we will side with Liverpool Echo.
