In depth

Verdict

An almost impossible bumper to call without the benefit of a peek at the market, so without that knowledge we will side with Cresent Island to score, while The Old Pretender is likely to emerge as a danger. Cresent Island is bred to go well on decent ground, is related to Irish bumper winners and is from a yard that is red hot at present so he is the suggestion. The Old Pretender is also well related and looks set for a nice career over fences with age, but he comes from a yard whose bumper runners are certainly noteworthy. Market support for him, Fit To Drive or Quickbeam, who are both bred to go chasing, would probably be significant, but we're pitching in 24 hours in advnace here with Cresent Island.
