Verdict

BORN AGAIN makes most appeal of these on pedigree though You're So Vain and Goodwill Phil are sure to have their supporters. The Presenting gelding is related to a number of winners over further so with stamina at a premium, and the additional help of a rider that can claim 5lb off the burden, he puts plenty of ticks in the right boxes. Warren Greatrex desperately needs to kick start his season and You're So Vain is respected. The dam is an unraced half-sister to Simon so there is plenty of quality about that side of the pairing. Goodwill Phil won a Worcester bumper in 2008 and now makes a debut for Nigel Hawke. Like Ice has to be noted closely in the market. The half-brother to The Sawdust Kid represents a yard that can have them ready first time out. Maraksh is a half-brother to Petit Bob. His sire has produced the likes of Oslot and Mon Mome in the past so the pedigree is more proven than most. The market is going to represent the most pertinent guide to the outcome of this contest and in the absence of it, Born Again secures our nomination.
