In depth

Verdict

Shivermetimbers has won a bumper but few of these have threatened over hurdles so far including Venetia Williams' charge, who unseated at the first on his hurdling bow ay Haydock on Wednesday. Jaisalmer finished runner-up over timber at Plumpton back in January and Run To Milan was disqualified after passing the post first in a bumper on Boxing Day last year. The Russian Doyen has placed in both starts in bumpers while stablemates Timeforben and Warthog have won point-to-points. But ATAGUISEAMIX was placed in an Irish point-to-point in March and he gets a speculative vote in this having joined Paul Nicholls’ yard subsequently.
