In depth

Verdict

A few of these have already met this season and there is unlikely to be much between the likes of Jaloux D' Estruval and Auburn Spirit over this longer trip. However, they may both have to concede best to last year's winner of this race Miners Dance, who is set to compete off the same mark this time around. Brendan Powell sent the eleven-year-old to a livery yard for a spell after he lost his way towards the end of last season and the change of scenery has reportedly done him good. Miners Dance easily accounted for Kittenkat on his reappearance at Fontwell, where he proved his well being with a good effort to finish second after a long absence. That run, combined with today's longer trip at a course he obviously likes, make the credential of Miners Dance too hard to ignore today and he is expected to prove too resolute for top weight Jaloux D' Estruval, who is feared the most today.
