American Artist hasn't had much racing since scoring here a year ago. He returned to action over the track and trip in April and was beaten a short-head by Hit The Jackpot, who will be 5lb better off. The latter's stable companion Jacbequick does his winning at Beverley while Beardwood's recent victory came in a lower class contest at Windsor, where he had stablemate Sennockian Star behind, which is a vastly different track to this. MALMOOSA hasn't had much experience but though only winning a minor handicap at Lingfield she followed with an excellent run in a better race than this at Newmarket three weeks ago and can make enough progress to return to winning ways. Makzeem is another lightly-raced type on the upgrade judged on his maiden victory at Windsor while Ryan Moore's presence on Lawrence suggests Luca Cumani's charge, who hasn't been beaten far in any of his recent races, is ready to win again soon.
