Most of these were bred to do better this year and the step up to this trip should make for a competitive little heat. However, there was plenty to like about the way Morson Boy extricated himself when he was short of room en route to his maiden victory at Pontefract last week, and he is taken to defy his modest penalty here. Anticipating and Sovereign Dreamer are also going the right way and will push the selection all the way to the line, but the resurgent form of the Middleham horses just edges the vote in favour of Morson Boy in a very tight little contest.
