In depth

Verdict

LUCIDA (NAP), placed in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket and the Coronation Stakes, didn't get the run of the race on her final start of the campaign in the Falmouth Stakes back at HQ in July and her Group 1 form gives her the edge in this. Irish Rookie was well behind her at Ascot and though having the benefit of a decent run in the Group 2 Dahlia Stakes at the beginning of this month her overall form doesn't match that of the selection. Navan maiden winner Fluff has been well beaten in both starts this campaign but Devonshire did well to chase home Queen Blossom in a Group 3 here in March. Hint of A Tint won tough handicaps on ground with some give last summer but couldn't handle the step-up to Group and Listed class later.
